ST GABRIEL'S PRIMARY
PUPILS ARE DOING IT FOR THEMSELVES
PUPILS ARE DOING IT FOR THEMSELVES right across the year groups at St Gabriel's Primary. They have had great fun with their enterprise projects, from Eurobite's buffet with a European flavour for parents, to Santa's Little Helpers (SLH) Enterprise Fete and the Badgers Enterprise Company, set up to make classroom helper badges. Projects are meticulously organised by the pupils, who interview and then assign roles to ensure the very best management and attention to detail.
With SLH, there was a management team, quality control, production, advertising and administration and even a competition to design the logo for use in advertising and on merchandise. Having worked their socks off for three months, making goods for sale and creating fun fundraising raffles and games - star prize was a trip in a limo courtesy of Gillens Coaches - their fete was voted a huge success.
Money raised was used to buy SCIAF Real Gifts that help poorer communities overseas fend for themselves. Thanks to the hard work and generosity of everyone involved, St Gabriel's gift list was able to include two goats, three vegetable gardens, an emergency home kit and five medical kits, as well to educate a disabled child in India .
A little extra left in the kitty was used to replenish stock for future enterprising projects. What a team!
